Trusts
There are several advantages to using trusts in estate planning. Setting up a trust allows your family to avoid the probate process after your death, and trusts can help you reduce or eliminate the amount of federal estate tax your beneficiaries will be required to pay.
At Clement Law Offices, we set up a trust or several trusts for you with proper funding and the necessary supporting documents. These documents may include financial powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney and pour-over wills.
Pour-over wills transfer the assets you acquire after you set up a trust into the trust. In addition, a pour-over will transfers any assets you forgot to place in the trust into the trust.
Wills
In addition to creating trusts, we are also practiced at drafting wills. A will is a document that allows you to choose the people or charitable causes to which you leave your assets. If you die without a will or trust, state statutes determine what happens to your assets.
Power of Attorney
